A big thank you to Yana Kotlerewsky (Maya’s mom) for coming in to the Red Apples class and doing an amazing pair of thanksgiving projects. Yana and her son Adam who is also our wonderful Apple School graduate and alumni came to celebrate and get into the spirit of family, togetherness, and happiness that is the Thanksgiving holiday. Adam and Yana explained that corn is a traditional Thanksgiving side dish and an important crop to the Pilgrims and Native Americans. After their bright corn, the kids also indulged in creating some fall leaves with tissue paper and plates. Here they were able to make their very own fall leave to get into the seasonal and colorful spirit of our November month. The kids had a blast being with Yana and Adam as Yana has been a part of our Apple School Parent Project program for years now and we call her a true veteran of the process! The kids loved seeing their friend Adam and the overall enthusiasm that they brought to the kids and our class and we are so happy that they were able to celebrate in the happiness with us! Yana and Adam did not leave without making the kids jump for joy again, because they left the kids with nut and dairy free cookies and snicker doodles for all of them to enjoy! We thank the Kotlerewsky family for being such a connected and active family by doing projects and giving the kids to love coming to school even more every time they see you. On behalf of the Kotlerewsky and Apple School, we wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving holiday!
